Statistics following our extra session on the 9th July at Sonardyne in Yateley.  We must extend our many thanks to Sonardyne for their continued support and hosting us for this special event, their help and facilities provided is very much appreciated.  The post event tour of their various buildings and engineering workshops was very enlightening showing the extensive products and facilities Sonardyne provide to the oceanographic industry.

At this special event we had 27 items through the door, which consisted of 13 electrical; 7 textile; 5 mechanical; 2 plushies.  We managed to fix 14 items at the event but there were 5 that were unrepairable, the remaining 8 have gone to our volunteer fixers homes for further work.
    So for the day :-
  • We stopped 31kg of items going to landfill.
  • Saved roughly £730 in replacement item costs.
  • Prevented 339Kg of CO2 emissions -
This is roughly equivalent to 1,600 miles in a Ford Puma - the UKs most common new car in 2024.
